some days ago mine was slow and unresponsive, but then i OC'ed to 1150 (limits 250 1150 LV) and i installed the 720p + HD Cam, and damm it feels like i got a new phone.

Normally i could not OC over 900 stable but with Power49 it has been working for a few days with no problems.

but of course it is not recommended to OC that much.

SIDE Q: freemangordon did you get the PM?

2. Install KP49 (latest from KP thread, should be stable with SR in range 250-600 ) and use default profile if you don't want to OC. It has SR enabled for both vdd1 and vdd2. You can OC too, but have in mind that SR above 600 is still not stable on all devices (soon will be, hopefully)

3. Make sure to not install any software which polls HW every now and then.

4. use powertop, to check what wakes-up your MPU.
1. What is SR? Clock rate
2. is there's some other software than should be avoided at all cost?

SR is an abbreviation for a sub system that controls how deeply the system sleeps and how it manages power in the device. I'm sure others can comment on specifics, but it's not clock rates per se.

As for software, a good general rule of thumb is: If you don't know what it does, or how it does it, you shouldn't install it. There's a wifi driver with packet insertion capabilities! Yay! Do you know what that means? Do you know what it does? If not, you probably don't need it. Don't install it. Done.

Things like speed patch may tell you what it claims to do, but often never how it accomplishes such things. If you don't know what it's doing, you probably don't want to install it.

Could you explain why those patches are bad? And is there a way to get rid of them without a reflash?
I have them installed that's why I am asking. I do kinda feel that after those patches my n900 response is a little slow when waking from sleep/standby though.

From TI.com about SmartReflex:

Power management. The OMAP3430 boasts the most advanced and effective power management techniques in the market. The chip makes exhaustive use of TI's SmartReflex technologies which include a broad range of intelligent and adaptive hardware and software techniques that dynamically control voltage, frequency and power based on device activity, modes of operation and temperature. Additionally the OMAP3430 is supported by the TWL4030 power management/audio codec companion device which is designed specifically to maximize battery life and boost system performance in mobile phones that leverage the OMAP3430 applications processor. The highly integrated TWL5030 audio/energy management device combines SmartReflex-compliant voltage regulators and converters, a high-fidelity audio/voice codec, class-AB/D audio amplifiers, high-speed USB 2.0 OTG transceiver, battery charger circuitry and much more into a single chip, significantly reducing board space and system cost while managing power consumption efficiently.

They are mostly kernel settings that are meant for desktop machines (miracle patch), are undocumented and/or just outright wrong. On top of that they are constantly updated, meaning your device is being used as a guineapig. As a result of that lots of machines fail to reboot after applying those "patches".
Have a look at this thread to see what happens to these devices:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=73315

If you want more: Just keep an eye open for "trouble-threads" on the forum here, and you'll see that lots of these devices with problems actually have those "patches" applied.

And is there a way to get rid of them without a reflash?
Well, ideally you should be able to simply uninstall. However, lots of these "patches" leave settings the way they were set at the time of "patching", so a reflash is more or less mandatory.

I removed both patches and still my n900 is damn slow...
I'll reflash soon.
May the lagginess be a result of a crash during installing apps for easy debian?

You mean a crash during an installation within Easy Debian? If that's the case, than it doesn't seem likely the lagginess is caused by that, because you were working in a so called root-jail (chroot), a protected environment in which you can run a complete OS (e.g. Debian) as root, but never touch any of the core files of the host OS (Maemo). That's only one of the charmes of Easy Debian

I'd put my money on the "patches".

Yeah, but there may be some apps that look great on first look and are crap, such as karam's patches
