lol ok then then, fair enough. Sorry rainisto. Hopefully they bring back the one touch zoom and scroll in PR1.3 ...

If I remember I can check the source codes from PR1.1 vs PR1.2 just to be sure that I'm not remembering wrong. Lets see if I remember do to that tomorrow when I'm back in work.

It's not a placebo. Tapping (PR1.1) or double-tapping (PR1.2) on the bottom half of the right edge of the screen scrolls down (no zoom).

It's perfectly reproducible, see the video, or reserve an RDA N9 for two minutes and try it (can't mix click with drag there, like with fingers).

The behavior of the middle of the right side, is the same as double-tapping elsewhere now on PR1.2 but this was happening with a single tap on PR1.1

posting the video again for easy reference
http://youtu.be/EU3fLmGnP24

Of course you can't see if I am tapping or double tapping in that video, but I assume you trust me in that.

EDIT: further testing shows that in PR1.2 double tapping the edge conflicts with doubletap to zoom if there is an element right under your finger. Going now to RDA to test PR1.1

EDIT2: The same happens in 1.1 except one tap is enough. I hadn't noticed because the times this gesture is useful is mostly when you are zoomed around a container in a page and this means that there is probably nothing on the edge.

Anyway, the behavior in PR1.1 was much friendlier so the bug report stands, even if some times it does zoom instead of scrolling. Also the single click zoom was useful too.

just checked the sources of WebViewport.qml, the md5sum of that file has _not_ changed between the PR releases.

The identical functionality for touch/doubletap/scrolling can be found in here http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/docs/...bview-qml.html

Grob uses the same code. Yes there has been some changes on magnifier functionaly elsewhere between releases, but afaik they are not affecting the default touch behaviour of the viewport. And if by some miracle behaviour has changed by bug fixes and feature improvements, it's still not considered as regression ;-)

So, how can the difference in behavior be explained? There is a PR1.2 device in rda that still reports PR1.1 on the website but has 1.2 and it needs double tapping to scroll (that rules out the possibility of a rda glitch that triggers the function)
