For the life of me, I still cannot open Xterm. I removed the boot video (Nokia hands) from start up so it goes straight from the Nokia logo to the loading dots. Where exactly do I have to hit the shortcut key to access Xterm?

Press the power key, if CSSU Features is there tap it.
Press the power key again, tap restore transitions.

The idea is to hit Ctrl Shift and X while booting before hildon hits the corrupt transition file. This has the best chance of it being executed. As soon as the desktop is on the screen.
This shortcut should work all the time, but the problem with transitions maybe stopping that.
Not doubting you but are you certain you are pressing only Ctrl Shift and X?
i.e. Top Left / Bottom Left / X

Cannot pull up the menu with power button. Only can lock the device by hitting it twice. Still cannot open xterm. I think I may just be royally screwed.

I have the same problem but i can open x terminal.i've installed cssu community update.
Can anyone tell me how to install CSSU features configuration editor via X terminal....

All the info is in my posts above.
If you can't open X terminal or the power menu you will have to reflash.

Editing your transitions.ini with different methods was bound to cause problems.

It's all in the wiki's, please read them.
