I would and will choose Android with CyanogenMod though, before Tizen is ready. Android at least has Linux and Android also will have Qt-support.

it looks like a mini playbook....which i sold months after its release becuase it didnt have a pim/email/etc.

looks like they just released 2.0...which has what it should have launched with, and still is wifi only....so, i will continue to use my HTC Flyer 4g on tmo for now.

i did like the playbook, but am not fond of the bb devices kb's or os.

being this is much more like the tablet...looks very promising.

now...for the bb service requirement!!! *puke*

That isn't being officially endorsed by Google though, and without the developer of the actual OS pushing Qt, many devs might stay away from it.

I know its stupid as theres no harm to Google by allowing it, but big companies make stupid decisions every day (eg. Elop and Nokia)

They could easily just block Qt Apps being sold through the Android Market if they wanted to. Also Google really need to integrate it into the system itself before developers will bother.

And we need it on iOS too for it to really hit Nokia in their big fat head :P

Just in case someone in this thread is interested:

BlackBerry is currently organizing a BB Jam World Tour to introduce their new BB10. A good chance to meet other maemo members and Qt developers around the world.

I've created a new topic and a wiki page to find and contact other community members at this events. Please add yourself to the wiki if you are attending a event.

See you in Berlin!

Hey, that's gender discrimination! There are women on the board too you know.

More seriously, do you really believe the board is stupid? Ie, will they (not the company or shareholders mind you) really be worse off because of their decisions?

BB OS10 looks a lot more like Boot2Gecko's Gaia interface, though.

It also looks like it is yet again, closed.

my favorite aging dinosaur company is better than your favorite aging dinosaur company!!! Look, the home screens your dinosaur did are very similar to mine, even though there are only a limited number of home screen layouts that will work effectively at all. And prior art probably exists. Lets stifle innovation some more with our fanboy-ism and refusal to adapt to changing market realities.

also, N9 isnt really as open as N900 was, wasnt there some kind of warden or something that had to be defeated, oh yes, Aegis... with the inception dealie. I dont know a lot about N9 and the technical aspects of aegis/inception, but it seemed like it was a big step toward locking down from what n900 was.
