I just manually updated 3 or 4 packages on my phone with those from extras-testing, without enabling any repo. Facebook widget and picture sharing works just fine now.

Enable the repository, update and immediatly disable it again

Another option is to create a custom "command line sharing" and actually do whatever you want with it by programming a short script.
I actually use my own little script to scp my pictures to my own server but I have to specify the filename as parameter manually. How cool would it be if I could send it directly from the gallery!
Any suggestions how to add a script there?

"command line sharing" - sharing-cli package:
http://maemo.org/packages/view/sharing-cli/
- 1. Install it
- 2. Settings -> Sharing accounts -> Command Line Sharing
- 3. Your command, example for uploading to ftp: "ncftpput -u username -p password 10.0.0.1 / %s"
Also you can use "Hamster Filer"
