Well, I found that the original author Cuong Le committed some changes and uploaded the sources for version 0.0.8 beta in his git repository at https://gitorious.org/dropn9. Unfortunately, I did not find the .deb anywhere on the net.
After compiling with QtCreator and installing, I can login and access my files once again.
I attach the .deb to this post. (In case the original author complains, I will remove it of course.) To install it you will require devel-su and have to remove the previous version beforehand.
can I share directly from my gallery?

Does anyone have the source for this project or can push it to github? Cuong Le claims he's back, but not responding. To obtain the keys this app needs a name change in compliance with the Dropbox API guidelines...
