I'm not using nokia messaging, but the built-in e-mail client, modest. It started to fail on Friday.

Same problem here. Worked find for 3.5 years, but started to fail with the "unable to find message" on Friday June 7th. GMail via Nokia messaging works. No change to modest or any installed software, I suspect it is something to do with a gmail change.

If it's a GMail change, it hasn't propagated to me yet; Modest on my N900 is working fine handling my GMail account today. (I'm using the vanilla SSU Modest.)

I have this problem about 3 months ago. I have a CSSU 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo7.2 + kernel thumb1 and 51r. I think the problem is only in the Gmail account in my Nokia Messaging. In my Yahoo and Hotmail account I have no problem.
When I tried the reflash and using kernel stock , the same situation. Actually, when someone sends me an email (Gmail), I read it just fine, but if forwarding it, may never come to the sender.

Thankfully, Nokia Messaging is working fine for me sync'ing with my GMail account so I won't have to ditch my N900 because I can't read incoming gmail.com emails. Still would like to get to the root of it and back to the direct imap gmail access.

It seems this has hit me, too!
I get the same error message since Saturday after reenabling my account due to lock (too many foreign access tries).
At first I was not afraid as I have this same behaviour sometimes with other imap accounts, but it always settled itself with hours (a few logins).
But now it seems modest with manual setup of gmail (NOT using Nokia) keeps failing.

I really hope someone have an idea?
(this would be the second imap mail account becoming unusable on my N900 )

Did you send yourself a new test mail and you could fetch it from gmail?
Are you using IMAP?
I am also on stock SSU (of course with PK) and stock modest.

Hey all

With my N900, I have 2 Gmail accounts, both working for years.

First account is a googlemail one (old)
second account is a gmail one.

The googlemail one stopped working where as the gmail one was fine.
I solved it by accessing the 2 accounts via POP3 instead of imap. (Set up mail using Other not pre-configured Google Mail)

Doesn't solve the issue, but that's how I got mail back on my phone.
Does everyone who has this problem have an old googlemail email before they migrated to Gmail?

it has nothing (as far as I can tell) to do with the CSSU/CSSU-thumb.

Just tried again now, and yeah, no problems sending or receiving. Yup, I am using IMAP, and stock SSU/modest. (Stock kernel too, though that shouldn't matter.)

CSSU-T 21.2011.38-1Tmaemo8.1 on top of the latest CSSU-thumb

Is there any way to debug the mysterious "no message with id" after message has been fetched exception (on previous page)
