to be able to run 'ruby' either add /usr/local/bin to your PATH
or
ln - s /usr/local/bin/ruby /usr/bin/ruby
if you want to delete
dpkg -r ruby-1.93p448

like I said I didnt experience issues, but again, one man cant tst all corners.
So, if you dont want to play risk, use the ruby version for open ssl 0.9.8
