Frankly I think the problem with Western culture is it's excesses.
Media fueling it...rampant consumeristic behaviour...the belief that all that counts is what people can get right now...people chiming in via social media on topics they feel they are experts on...and resultant angelification (made that up....sounds good though) or demonization destroying peoples lives, undermining important work ..etc.
That is what i see as the probs with western culture...
Other cultures have their issues too.
No culture is perfect.
Except Maemo culture of course

(Besides, Kangal is right. Yet again.)
On my visit to the Forbidden City a few years ago, our tour guide told us that the Chinese culture - at least at the time of building it - explicitly forbade progress. The Emperor's successor could not outshine his father by building a bigger palace. So he had to build a smaller one. With only 9999.5 rooms instead of 10000.
