I doubt that Nokia/MS will ever release closed bits of Maemo. Maemo is dead and thats the truth. Its only alive for the people of this community.

And btw who has the right over Maemo source codes ? Nokia or Microsoft ?

Yeah I can't remember ...it got a bit fuggly around what exactly got snarfed up by MS...and what Nokia got out of doing...however permanent or temporary...
but juice is prolly right.

But hey!
buck up sunshine!
Haven't you heard the good news?
MS just finished doing a spankin' brand new Skype for Linux...
MS loves Linux y'know....
and I hear they'll be presiding over the upcoming marriage of win10 and 'buntu....
(gawd ! what will the children look like! shudder!)
Sooooo...
MS loves Linux...
Sooooo...
pull out your ice skates...
'cause I do believe that the floor of hell has officially frozen over...
(wonder how many souls over the centuries had that in their contract with the devil? Whole lotta people walkin' outta that place I figure! hehe...)
So there is always hope for us...
Perhaps more so if MS holds the reigns (rather balls) of the maemo source code...
'cause it's apparent to me that MS should be havin' a love affair with us any minute now! (shudder) ....
Who knows ?
Next year the new device line could be running Winmo!
hahahhaahahahaha

(goodness I cannot count just how many times I spoke sacrilegiously in this one post...)

Yes, no Maemo petitions succeeded. But no had proper visibility.
So we can only kindly ask. We have a good argument: the OS is dead.
We don't know unless we try.

But indeed, this lets them know they have something we want.

I leave the decision up to the CC.
