The article states "The OS must be certified by FSB of Russia in the class AK1 and include cryptographic protection of information, certified by the FSB of Russia in the KS1 class". Whatever AK1 and KS1 mean, I guess it means we will at a minimum get features like file system encryption in SailfishOS, and who knows what more. For Turing they already developed a fingerprint reader. I like that, as absence of security is a barrier to adoption by businesses and governments.

I hope that after RussianPost, more agencies will follow. An order for 771,000 phones for the Russian Armed Forces would keep Jolla going for some more time :-)

Filesystem encryption is a good and useful feature, yes, but please do not mix fingerprint reader into anything that's considered secure.
It is a nice toy for quick device unlocking but it adds nothing securewise; fingerprint readers are the easiest-to-crack device locks.

Indeed, that would go a long way into the right direction!

Russian e-paper Metronews reports of the favourable Forbes review of Jolla C with the heading "Forbes включил российский смартфон в топ лучших", translates something like "Forbes included a Russian smartphone among the top ones"

A robot translation from the story: "Expert in the field of mobile technology Ewan Spence included Jolla C smartphone, which is manufactured by Jolla, owned by Russian investor, the three best smartphones in its material for the American Forbes."

It is kinda complicated, but most of Jolla shares are owned by russian ESN Group.

It's a nice page and it gives (for what I understand of it with my limited knowledge of Russian) a good summary of the selling points for SailfishOS. Happy to see some positive marketing for SailfishOS.

What phone is used on the pictures? It's not a Jolla1/C or Intex.
