Is there anyway in OMWeather to display expected precipitation (rain, snow) or the possibility of precipitation (P.O.P.)?

I love the app, this would make it so much better. Because when I see that its expected to snow in the coming days, I want to know how sure they are it is going to snow, and if its going to be a light or heavy snowfall.

This can be done.
I created Feature Request
https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/ind...id=93&atid=420

And I think it will be done in version 0.22 of Omweather

Got the dreaded reboot loop after installing the latest OM Weather 0.21.6 and the -db.

I thought this issue was supposed to have been fixed.

Vasvlad, is there a known procedure for getting out of this jam?

The affected system boots from SD so I still have a functional uncustomized system booting from flash.

This is the very bad news.
Can you boot from internal flash?
If you can, then you may mount you external flash card and may remove file /usr/lib/hildon-desktop/libweather-home.so

If you will make it and your system will work please send me your config file of Omweater and all files from directory /home/user/apps/omweather
It will be very important information for me.

My barebones system in built-in flash boots fine but since my USB keyboard doesn't work under it I pulled the internal SD card and plugged it into my PC. I removed libweather-home.so but the system on mmc2 keep on rebooting.

Any other ideas?

The files in /apps/omweather/ are just bunch of .xml and .xml.new files. Where's the config?

This is very strange. Did you really delete this file from the broken image? Maybe omweather are not source of your problem. Try to rename the directory /home/user/.osso/hildon-desktop/ in the broken filesystem.
Config file for omweather are placed here
/var/lib/gconf/apps/maemo/omweather/%gconf.xml

Can you send me your broken image?

As I said, I pulled out the internal SD card where my day-to-day system resides, navigated to the given location and first renamed the file libweather-home.so.bak and then deleted it. Only libweather-home.la was left in that directory.

Sure, maybe something else caused the reboot loop, but since the last normal reboot a few days ago only most ordinary tasks have been performed on this tablet, and during the previous reboot a week ago I booted to the system in built-in flash to run a scheduled fsck on all partitions.

Then yesterday I ran the OM Weather + stations updates and after that compulsory (why??) reboot the system only got as far as to show the desktop (without OM Weather visible) for a few seconds, then the ominous screen flashes and we're off to looping again.

What critical system files does OM Weather touch during install/update that might cripple the desktop?

One of the most recently changed files I could find was /etc/mtab, a 0 byte file linking to /proc/mounts. I don't know if that's relevant to OM Weather or why it had changed.

I've got the SD card containing my uptodate (and now looping) default OS on my desk now and I can't try booting it for a couple of days since I promised to give the tablet (now containing a couple of months old backup SD card) to a family member who needs internet phone and chat while away.

I can try that renaming trick in a few days, but it would be interesting to try and figure out the reason for the reboot loop. It doesn't seem to affect a great many OMW users, but some have linked OMW to the reboot problem in the past, and some may have simply blamed SSU or something else...

I want to know why your system is broken. It's very important.
Omweather is the desktop plugin. The desktop plugin system in maemo isn't very good. All plugins work in one process (hildon-desktop) and they are placed in shared area of memory. If plugin is crashing, then occurs crash whole hildon-desktop.
You need reboot your device after update of any plugins because hildon desktop plugin is dynamic library. (*.so file). Desktop-hildon loads any plugin in memory and doesn't unload it until you don't reboot your device or restart process hildon-desktop.

Sorry for my ugly English.

Remove wrong station and add your station in settings window .

Do you install package with database of weather stations?
omweather-weather-com-stations-db_0.2_all.deb
