A sweet surprise!

Borrow from YoDude,

Thanks Nokia, Forum Nokia, Quim, The Community Council, members of the Academy, and anyone else who may have contributed to this incredibly generous gesture.

Re: evangelists elsewhere. Blog posts aggregated in http://maemo.org/news get karma not only from thumbs up but also from Delicious (and I think Technorati) karma as well.

But please start a new thread about karma calculations or find one of the ones opened already. Keep this thread clean to help those that got an email yesterday. Thank you!

Any other place for linking talk.maemo.org and maemo.org profile?
As you found, apologies in my earlier link - for some reason I have both links in my Firefox history. The correct link is:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Link_talk.maem...mo.org_profile

I'll edit my earlier post as well.

About the Company related registration fields. Forum Nokia deals with professional developers only in device programs. They have made an exception here and now with the Maemo community, accepting individuals as well. For one exercise is not worth to redesign their registration form.

Please go through it in the way you prefer. It's not a big deal. Thanks!

Yup - it's intimidating at first look, but easy when you know you're not playing by the normal rules...thanks for that :-)

One thing not mentioned in your mail : what is supposed to happen after sending the mail in Step 3 ?...

After sending your email, Forum Nokia checks that the registration belongs to a maemo.org contributor in the list. If everythng is correct then you will be able to proceed with the purchase. I guess the first approvals will arrive on Monday, but if not please give them time. I have no idea about their current availability of devices and whether they can satisfy the demand before sales start. Thank you for your patience.

About developers that for whatever reason are not planning to take this invitation. The invitation is nominal and made to you. Please act with common sense and don't convert (even if involuntary) a developer program into a discount bazaar. As said, it's the first time we do this and if the final impression is that discounted devices were forwarded and traded for whatever then the impact on potential future programs will be clearly negative.

I have got some requests to pass an invitation to someonelse. Sorry but, as said, the invitations have been made to certain people and we don't even have the time to go after particular cases (more than we already do). Thank you again for your understanding.

FYI, my MO login is working today. That didn't take too long.

It reports that I have 0 karma. But I just linked my TMO account. So maybe by tomorrow I will know my karma.
