@number41 - While you are most probably right and the problem is in BT subsystem, I think we should at least try to solve the problem. There MUST be a way of making both things work . And libconbtui0-hid plugin has some interesting exports, like "connect_automatically" and "can_connect" which are called from higher levels, receiving BT device MAC as parameter and returning boolean results, so in theory with little hacking I think I will be able to disallow auto-connect of PS3, while leaving the rest of HID devices working. Just need someone to test (and if possible to make patches) instead of me.

And btw libconbtui0-hid contains tool called btinputplugin doing exactly what you describe for batch file :

btinputplugin enable - enables input plugin in main.conf
btinputplugin disable - disables input plugin in main.conf

I've already checked that if you install extkbd/extmouse and uninstall it (making sure the bt package was removed) restores the ability to connect the ds3 with the n900 - you won't have to reflash.

i will test this myself hopefully tomorrow.

freemangordon - thanks. did you add any logging? are you expecting any output file/console text?

Just tested after installing your pakcage + restarting the device - the mouse connects ok, but the joystick is not working (same behavior as without your package).
one more thing i forgot to add and maybe will help analyzing this:
without the bt package (with extmou and extkbd uninstalled), when i press the DS3 button - it just connects to the device with no messages on the N900, but after the bt package is installed i get a dialog saying "accept connection with device? PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller" with yes/no buttons.
pressing yes or no doesn't matter - it fails to connect and the dialog pops back again after a few seconds (beause the DS3 is still trying to connect).

I hope this helps.

And may I have dmesg and xorg logs in both cases to check whether I can found some additional info?

hmm, lets try

1. remove extkbd and extmou and libbtui-hid, so you can connect sixaxis controller without problems
2. connect it
3. open xterm end write:
dmesg > dmesg.log.noem
cp /tmp/Xorg.0.log ./Xorg.0.log.noem
4. install extmou or extkbd. this should install libbtui-hid too.
5. try to connect sixaxis controller. tap yes, after that no when you are asked
6. give up
7. repeat step 3, but instead of typing .noem type .em at the end of the filenames
8. now you should have 4 files in /home/user directory

dmesg.noem
dmesg.em
Xorg.0.log.noem
Xorg.0.log.em

9. find a way to put them in a .zip archive
10. attach zip file here

Great instructions
i pressed the "No" button twice at step 5.

And... what am I supposed to do with the link to Windows Live online album ?!?

Please, attach zip file here on TMO. To do that press "Go Advanced", scroll down until you find "Manage Attachments", press it and follow instructions.

There's a link to the file there called dmseg_logs - i just rechecked to be sure - it is skydrive storage - not an album.
attached it here also.
Attached Files
File Type: zip dmseg_logs.zip (8.5 KB, 93 views)

I was redirected to windows live, have no idea why. Anyway thanks.

One more think:

Please confirm that you were able to connect sixaxis controler in case of .noem logs, and not able to connect in case of .em logs, as I see no difference between contents of those files.
