If that is a concern I can certainly keep myself to a strict Nokia/them role. I just got too used to the 'everybody is a community member' mood of MeeGo and Qt Project.

This thread is funny, when we have Nokia explaining what the Council means, rather like having King George explain the Consitution. This is one reason I don't want to be part of the process. Historically, though, Councils have evolved beyond what the King had in mind.

You mentioned earlier in this thread that you were looking at sourcing devices.

The difference is to put our time and energies in constructive discussions and into getting things done. There are many other topics apart from the basically exhausted topic of opening components, with a much higher impact in maemo.org users and developers.
For instance, what to do with apps.formeego.org and what would be ideal relationship you would like maemo.org to have with other immediate neighbors like Mer, Qt Project, Nokia Developer...
... Or other projects out there like developing and running Qt 5 apps with the N9.
Even the role of N9 users and developers here seems to need still some agreement, it seems.
Can I claim to be Benjamin Franklin, or George Washington or some other "founding father" then? I ain't King George, but I think Quim's historical perspective is spot on.

Yes, it's just that I don't feel like discussing your case (or anybody's specific case). What we should discuss is the plan for seeding devices.
Starting points that come to mind:
- "I have this app and I want to port / develop it and publish it at apps.formeego.org" (or successor, and/or Nokia Store).
- "I have this app / this idea and I want to run it in Qt 5 on the N9."
