I googled a bit and found a way to show notification banners via dbus http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=84624

I guess I can show a notification asking the user to restart. Something like: "Camera+ installed. Please restart your phone!".

I guess that's the best thing I can do now. Ok ?

Maybe because the icons are installed in /usr/share/themes/blanco/meegotouch/icons/ and thus they are part of blanco theme not the base theme?

I'm pretty sure I've found a way to tame mthemedaemon. If you restart that daemon all sorts of bad juju happens, but if you instead just send it a HUP it purrs like a kitten loading all the new eye-candy into the theme.

Code:
initctl reload xsession/mthemedaemon
Tested here and works very well (stock firmware)

Here is 0.0.7 which is mainly a bug fixing release.

Changes:
* Hopefully prevent GPS from running all the time.
* Prevent screen dimming while playing a video in post capture
* Standby screen does not prevent going to settings or post capture anymore
* Delay capturing via proximity sensor by half a second to prevent accidental trigger.
* Fix a crash when capturing an image and immediately closing camera.
* Notify user to reboot the phone after installation.
* Optimize loading DCIM folder contents when navigating to post capture view

Installed later version. But didn't notify about reboot. Doesn't matter, just wanna give feedback. I used coderus debinstaller.

I can't touch the settings bar up/left.
It focus in the corner.
And i don't saw the reboot popup.

How comes c+ breaks the original camera app ? Can we just use both ?

So it seems the reboot banner is not showing up for an unknown reason.

You flick/swipe right to access the settings and left to access your captured images and recorded videos.
