@AlekMX
well that problem occur if the speedpatch wasn't activated
it happens if you had an in proper halt or reboot
ex: removed the battery, N900 halted cause of the drain of the battery, a crash, unexpected reboot

@abhirajsoni
i didn't include the custom-profile in this release
maybe next version i will

@bltcool
you are using epitaph's program
if you want to install speedpatch
remove it by :
Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get purge n900-tune-up
@fw190
batterypatch doesn't require a reboot
but task-swapper requires one reboot
speedpatch requires 2 or 3 reboots

@karam
I have created a simple patch which sets the CPU at a defined clock speed and profile when the device is idle, and bumps the CPU to another clock speed and/or profile when the device is active. You can set the clock speed and profile from two config files (one for being idle and the other for when the device is active) e.g. My device is set at starving on 250 500 when idle, and ideal 500 1150 when active. I also included the vfs_cache_pressure trick in the script. If you want to add it to your set of patches, modify parts of it... take a look:

Should be easy to do.
This of course saves a lot more battery life, starving is fine to use at 250 500 when idle, no problems happened with me till now. To select what profile you want when active:
Code:
leafpad /usr/local/bin/overclock
You will see the top lines are settings for KP, erase the line kernel-config limits 500 1150, and replace the other with like, kernel-config load <karam's profile in here>.

(never used it, don't know its name)

My issue was being unable to update over wifi or 3g. not everything, but anything needing to use sudoers folder (which is a lot of things). Also, weather would only update over 3g and not on wifi. All is fixed now. I can't say it was definitely down to speed patch but there wasn't much else I did. I am about to make a new backup now before trying patches again.
The speed patch was working good I think, with video playing smoothly on websites like iplayer (it's very jumpy now without the speed patch, which is why I want it back). Didn't notice any difference in battery, but didn't really put it to much testing, but if it was better then it wasn't noticeable at least. Certainly wasn't any worse.

Quick question before I shut up and stop waffling on .........
What, if anything, does speed/battery patch do to/with sudoers foler and files?
Cheers for that. I'd try it if I had any back-ups. Will do a re-flash when I can be bothered but I can live with it for now.

@ Karam, cheers for your advice earlier. Purging then re-installing made the battery patch work again.
