As for now, no. The only way to activate it is thru the menus.

In the desktop version there is so much more space available

I got it to work thanks to the exact url to the Chinook release. Thank you everybody for helping me out. Xournal is a terrific app that I use all the time. Without it, I cannot generated notes and sketches.

Best to everyone.

Where is this config file located, and how does one open and edit it? (sorry if this a repeat question)

Andiel, thanks for the great work and continued support for this application. In installing some other apps the maemo-extras-devel repository was added without my knowledge and then I upgraded to the diablo version to have the launch fail. I followed your solution though and all is well.

One question, is it possible to save annotations to a pdf to the original pdf file? Currently I save the pdf file to a new name, then delete the old pdf and rename the new pdf file to the old pdf name. Is there an easier solution?

Thanks, JD

You mean overwriting the original PDF with the new annotated copy ?
It should be possible already, shouldn't it ?
Am I missing something ?

I may be the one misunderstanding. My goal is to end up with a PDF file that is readable with annotations by any PDF viewer wether on my N800 with Evidence or on a PC. I have been opening pdfs to annotate by selecting file -> Annotate PDF. When I select File -> Save it doesn't save as a stand alone pdf but as a .pdf.xoj file. I have to select the file -> Export to PDF which will not let me export to the original file name. Is there a way to just save to PDF, or do I need to continue to Export?

I'm on Chinook, and am still having this problem too (not being able to save configuration preferences). In fact, I thought that a work-around would be to create a "template" that contains all of my preferences (line weight, line color, etc). I saved the template, closed the program, then re-opened the template...it did not remember the config preferences.

This app has much promise if users can get past this problem.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

These issue are related to the upstream project. You should ask the original author about resolving the issue.
I will try to figure out the patch myself as soon as I will be able to get on it for longer than 10 mins.
