I spent 119000 forints (which is currently worth 593.61 USD) on a 2 months old used N900, and I think every piece of that money is VERY well placed.

I didn't know almost anything about Linux before I bought it, and now I'm almost a power user of sort.
When I'll have some time, I'll definitely learn Qt and play around with it.

I like all the features. It's a 600 MHz computer, and it really does what a computer did 5-10 years ago, and there are plenty of applications. Every time I visit the Application Manager, there is always something new, something interesting.

I don't think I'll ever become a Linux fanboy (actually, on the desktop I don't prefer it), but the bottomline is, that there is currently no better device on the market from my point of view.

I am actually starting to regret purchasing this very useful device. Not in the sense that it doesn't do what I want it to, but it actually does it too well. I find myself lying in bed rather then sitting up to do stuff. Sure the energy usage of sitting up compared to lying down maybe insignificant, but my ever increasing beer gut says otherwise.

I suppose as it is so mobile, I could actually go jogging with it....

No,
however I do regret spending money on a netbook about 6 months ago.

For the average non technical minded end user, the n900 might not be the right device due to the current lack of applications/games when compared to other devices out there, like the iphone, but for those other technical minded end users who want power and don't want to pay for applications/games then the n900 IMO offers the power of a normal linux machine in your pocket.

I got to admit I do miss some of my old symbian and windows apps...

I wish there was a symbian and a windows emulator for this device

after 3 weeks im loving mine more each day,
im a linux noob by the way and i cant write programs at all, so im very grateful for this forum.
i upgraded from an N95-8gb which is or was the best phone i ever used,
initially i hated the N900 for lack of decent satnav and other features, but now i have installed cygic on the 900 i can retire my old faithful N95.
ok if im honest i wish there was a few more games etc, but what ive seen it do so far has impressed me a lot.
i still dont like the way the camera "autofocus" works, but i think/hope it will get better in the future FW upgrades.

i got mine for my b day when it first came out. If i hadn't? well, that means i would stlil be waiting right now for a phone that has NO OFFICIAL release date as of yet. i don't regret buying it one bit. if something else better comes out i will probably just go get it. On second thought... i will probably still be right here learning the n900 as it is so much to learn about it and linux. If i would have bought a better phone or a more user friendly phone then i never would have been inspired to learn all i am learning now. I probably would haev grown board quickly and more than likely not have all the capabilities that i am earning to appreciate about this device

I personally regret a little too after knowing about MeeGo and the problem with support. But hey it by far the best device that close enough to my needs.

I felt more of disappointed than regretted. Like you all know that N900 has so much potential but still Nokia can't bring out the full blast of it's power.

Great phone, no regrets... Previous phone was the Sony Ericsson K850i which cost the same amount of money but had a hell of a lot less features!

Defiantely no regrets!
