I originally saw it on slashgear

All that software magic is wrapped in a unibody chassis combining matte-finish aluminum and sturdy white plastic. There are front and rear cameras, a 4,000 mAh battery and a custom microUSB port that ensures not only backward compatibility with regular accessories but HTC’s new high-power charger. Battery life is tipped at a whopping 820 to 1470 hours of standby – that’s over 61 days – while video playback is up to four hours. The first Flyer units will have integrated HSPA+ connectivity, albeit for data only, while a WiFi b/g/n-only version will follow “pretty soon” after. There’s also Bluetooth 3.0, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot.
Doesn't sound exactly bargain basement to me, what's the life on a Tab playing video? The stylus caught my eye as well. Certainly worth keeping an eye on at any rate. My S7 tablet will keep my happy for a while. Probably Q3, I'll take a serious look at what is out there and pass the S7 on to my daughter.

What do you get as available options/keyboards in this mode when you hold your finger on a text entry area while the Bluetooth is on? (i.e. Does it give you the option, for example, to go exclusively BT keyboard with no software keyboard?)

ROM flashing is now mainstream, thank you for your caveats though.

With apologies to your wounded ego, as someone who doesn't deal with rooting and flashing Samsung devices, you really are treading into alien territory and arguing with people who DO. If you bothered to read through the Samsung forums, they DO point out how dangerous it is to try flashing their devices and ESPECIALLY dangerous to try flashing all of the Flash memory partitions with Samsung's Odin tool. As much as I love my Samsung Galaxy Tab, the company did appear to go out of their way to make sure we couldn't hack at it. Idiots.

Flashing, yes. I know how common it is (did I remember to mention that I have rooted and flashed and re-flashed various Android devices I own, including my Droid, Galaxy Tab and a Nook Color now?), but that doesn't lessen the warnings and alternative instructions I've pointed out about Samsung devices since they're particularly weird about this.

GOOD NEWS THOUGH!
As an update for anyone trying to flash a Samsung Galaxy Tab, there's been a new completely open-source, MIT License, tool released to use INSTEAD of Odin. It's called Heimdall!

From their web page:
Why use Heimdall when we can use Odin?
Odin is generally unreliable and only runs on Windows systems. Furthermore, Odin is leaked Samsung software that is not freely available or well understood by the community.

Is Heimdall safe?
No matter what method you chose, flashing firmware onto your device has a lot of potential for disaster. We have tested Heimdall with a variety of devices, flashing several different firmware versions with a 100% success rate. As such we believe that Heimdall is generally reliable. However keep in mind, just like any firmware flashing software, Heimdall has the potential to brick your device if not used correctly.

Lookin' REEEEEALLY good for us, here! Note: Pay SPECIAL ATTENTION to the requirements before you do anything. (For example, I can't use it since I have the lamed-down Verizon version.)

I don't see that option anywhere.
I'll just have to live with the on board keyboard popping up everytime I tap on my screen to begin typing!

No...no such option....I played with if for a good minute.

It's not a big deal....just a minor annoyance!

Hello All

I some how missed up my LiveWallpapersPicker.apk portion on my tablet. I could see that live wallpapers are installed but there is no options when I long press on the home screen.

I have been searching like hell on XDA for a solution.

Does anyone have the apk file?

Thanks.

My time is spent on the Streak forums so yes, I had no idea that was such as issue with Samsung. So my apologies to the OP and I hope he didn't act on what i said.

My ego is recovering slowly thank you, kind of you to ask.
