Actually, the original chip was designed by ARM and licensed to TI and that chip has max operational frequency spec from 600MHz to 1GHz. I already wrote somewhere here, that basing on commercial practice it is unlikely that TI redesign chip, so all thermal, radio and voltage work was done by ARM.

It probably means that 600MHz restriction is not a chip design but TI production line yield - they have not very good quality line, so they certify OMAP 3430 as 600MHz only. And the note on TI site - OMAP 3430 is sold only by BIG parties - actually means that they want to have a special relationship with customer for this chip... mostly likely because of different treatment of faulty CPU.

sleep_while_idle 1
sr_vdd1_autocomp 0
sr_vdd2_autocomp 0
clocks_off_while_idle 1
voltage_off_while_idle 1
scaling_governor ondemand
scaling_max_freq 600000
scaling_min_freq 250000
sleep_ind 1

Can anybody provide results regarding the battery saving effects when using an ulv-kernel?

Thanks,
