Has the Contacts program always allowed you to merge contacts?

I hadn't noticed it before this most recent update, but I haven't really spent a lot of time in the menus, either.

Well the SIP video call bug I've been watching has been fixed. I'm psyched. Audio/video are quite good using ulaw/h.263+ with the PC Eyebeam client. While MSN, Skype, or Yahoo video chat would be more convienent, at least there is a quality option that works now.

I have been disappointed by the Gizmo video ( N800 <-> PC ), so I've been hoping for another alternative. Your mention of Eyebeam got my hopes up, but then I discovered that it is a pay product. Unless it truly is a good-quality system, there's no reason for me to buy it.

Is there a free alternative to the Eyebeam client?

X-lite is the free version of Eyebeam:

I believe it does handles h.263 video also. I remember seeing a post from someone using it here on ITT.

Of course there are other SIP apps that support video as well. Just need to make sure it supports h.263 or h.263+ for video. On linux I've used Linphone which seemed to work fine also.

What are you trying to download/install? The apps I mentioned in my post are all SIP clients for PCs. The tablet has a SIP client built-in already, which they have been improving.

I think so. I have an applet for it and I haven't installed the beta upgrade yet.
