I've done that trail! My Holux M1000 BT GPS unit does not think I'm ever adrift in the English Channel. That's just weird!

Not "That's just wierd", instead "That's just N810". I'm sure my N800 would work fine with an external GPS, but the N810 *shakes head*... I can get a "GPS" fix, but only if I'm connected by wifi. I assume that's the magic of agps, "GPS" without futzing around with any of that satellite stuff ("satellites in view:11, satellites in use: 0").

I have a design for converting the N810 to an astrolabe using a protractor, chewing gum, piece of string and a handful of used McDonalds shake straws. The N810's clock really comes in handy, much faster location fixes than using the "GPS"

The mountains, in Canada.

The Alpine Meadows on Blackwall Peak at Manning Park, a few hours drive from Vancouver, are still closed due to snow.
