I hope he's right, I've got mine on overnight shipping ( only $3.99 with 3 free month trial of Prime)

IMO the Nokia N900 is the 1963 Aston Martin DB5 of phones (which is a good thing if you know your cars and what I'm talking about) and the iPhone a Ford Pinto....have an iPhone and I hate it, can't wait till the N900 gets here.
I hope, it start shipping tomorrow. Though I haven't got an email from Amazon.

True, but remember when the iPhone first came out it didn't have that many either. This is a new path for Nokia and giving them time like we did for Apple I think will reveal pleasing results--plus the fact that it's based off the Linux system there are already a ton of apps...

As far as 'lack of popularity', I don't see that. Amazon sold out of there entire pre-order stock, Nokia USA has record pre-order sales for the N900 as well and thats just the US market. With the amount of buzz going around the cell industry I think people are really eyeing the N900 as a potential iPhone competitor and/or killer. Nokia was once a really great company and the past six years or so not so good, hopefully they have found that edge again they originally had.

It's Sunday, plus the fact they don't charge till it ships. When they shipped my E90 they literally charged my card four hours before they sent it out.

I guess the next 24 to 48 will tell if Amazon has them in stock and ready to release before the end of the month. What's the expression hope for the best but expect the worst?

We could set our expectations low and if they ship early we will be pleasantly surprised (i.e. under promised and over delivered). Kidding...
