I wish you luck! seriously this is one of the best solution for your device put this in n900 hardware wiki and thread
I will my friend, I will, but right now I'm a little bit stressed I have an exam tomorrow and, and some others exams this week, I am going to add more info to the wiki

Please, if I'm not asking to much write a reminder about this in my thread. I don't want to forget something as important as this!

Ok, I did the paper under sim, worked for a while.
Then had to do the 'hammer' trick, again, worked for a while.
Now going to attempt the 'springs' last resort.

I am about to disassemble one of my N900's for the first time ever.
I am looking for the best info on this there is.
1) Disassembling.
2) Identifying the GSM chip. (Where it is on the motherboard.)
3) Applying the 'fix'

Can you help me please?

identify the cpu ,the gsm chip is on the oposed side of pcb "under the cpu" ,at least heating that chip solved my sim problem

Ok, I took a look at these.
According to this:-
http://wiki.maemo.org/File:Nokia_N90..._test_pads.png

The person applying this fix:-http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/3...1226155843.jpg

Has applied it to the four chips under the shield marked "FM Transmitter Antenna" in the first picture.

Comments please?

that is too much , my opinion , i have heated only one chip, that spring solution looks like a hack and slash fix
