Try the PC flasher. You can download it from here
You need to press U while turning the phone ON (so reboot your phone) to enter the upgrade mode. You can download the latest firmware from here. If you need more info on how to do it, see this page

i know how to flash the phone, but thats not what i want to do at this stage. i'm trying to understand why i'm getting this problem and how the flasher app on the phone became missing, it seems that none else is understanding, you cannot flash via phone without the flash app file somewhere on phone. mine is now missing

Hmm, okay...post your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list here. It could be that some repos are missing from that. Alternately, just flash the kernel rather than wasting your time investigating the cause. Your wish.

I did flash the lethos 800 mhz ulv using pc but i want to be able to use the phone to do those commands to restore fw info and original kernel via phone
