Future of meego depends on if it is released in india. I changed to s2 as nokia india refused to repair charging port of my n900 which I used, no I lived to for 1 year. Now see india is nokia's largest market and if n900 was here for 650 usd n9 could not be for more, again in here phones are not sold thorough operators but we by default buy unlocked and choose which operator sim we want to use, so this glossy piece if sold in india ( in list of countries india is missing) can be a smashing hit and nokia won't have to convince operators and popular phone in india can never die and nokia can never stop from making sister phones, take my words.

Thats the reason why the N9 wouldn't hit the stores in the biggest "Nokia Countries"...

Korea is another country heavily into "trends". Their cycle is extremely short and people change phones, clothes, hair styles, bags etc sometimes every few months. LG and Samsung (both Korean companies) knows this very well and markets it appropriately.

I reckon for the first time, N9 with its sleek design and fancy UI could do really well in Korea. In fact, N8 has quite a following in Korea even though they never released it there due to N8 being the BEST camera phone in the market to date. So there are heaps of people importing it and for the first time, a proper Symbian Korean keyboard replacement was created by the Korean community devs this year due to such momentum. (I have it installed on my E7 and it's brilliant)

So yeah. Nokia should really be pushing the N9 (and maybe N8) into the Korean market to try and gain some market/mind share there. (which they have near zero in Korea) I'm sure WP7 phones will do well because Mango supports full Korean. But I reckon N9/N8 would do equally as well if they just tried. (and have some core apps which is a must to succeed such as KakaoTalk which is Whatsapp equivalent in Korea and every iPhone/Android user uses it pretty much)

Ah well. I'm just glad I'm in Australia to have the N9 released locally. =P

It is GPS coordinate tracking, optional, switches on/off in the settings. The two leftmost are optional (face tracking and GPS tracking), you may see screenshots somewhere with only three icons (flash, mode, and picture size). There are also white balance and exposure compensation icons which would appear there if you change them from automatic setting.

Will Qt applications be able to use downloaded maps in storage or must there be an internet connection whenever there is need for ovi maps ? I mean for applications like eCoach, Sport tracker or GPS coord. links.

See http://wiki.meego.com/Migrating_from...950#Map_loader for downloading maps offline (worked for me for whole Europe), Ovi Suite should also work fine.

However, A-GPS would need to download almanac and/or other data to speed up synchronization with sattelites, so some traffic may be unavoidable. I write may be as this is not my area of expertise and I may be well wrong.

I already know that Navigation (Maps) can use preloaded maps for offline navigation. Here I just wonder if this also applies to those applications that use maps. Will third party applications have access to the preloaded maps on the device ?
