I don't use multiboot but, could you post here the output of
'ls -l /etc/multiboot.d'

That is, open a terminal and type

$ ls -l /etc/multiboot.d

Post the results.

Fabulous work and effort! I'm on kernel power v.46 and I would just like to upgrade to v.48. Any advice on how to go about this? Couldn't find information on upgrading to a specific version if needed.

What exactly have you installed?

If I look at kernel-power-bootimg from extras-devel that's KP46, which ONLY places a kernel image (zImage) on /boot.

Nothing about configuring multiboot or anything. So I guess you need to (1) find a multiboot-ready image of KP49 *and* (2) configure your damn** multiboot to include the new kernel.

No idea how to configure multiboot (don't use it). Cannot be harder than editing a text file, I suppose.

It's been a couple of days now. I think I can say KP49 with the DSP profile is a-ok on my n900 (hwrev 2101 as if that matters). No problems, CPU-intensive programs and DSP-intensive multimedia all work.

Time for me to learn some more new things! Does anyone one know where I can find an image for KP48, NOT KP49? (I'm still working on understanding quite a bit) Perhaps I'll give KP49 a it a try after all. (I actually use it as my primary communication device, but am constantly amazed by what this community has, and continues, to do!)

v49 works in general fine for me, but the "FM radio" doesn't works anymore since I use v49. I hear simply no sound at all with the default application.

Edit: Works fine with QRadio.

Yes, as I said, that was the first place that I tried, unfortunately for me, none of the included modules load:

Code:
insmod: error inserting 'wl1251.ko': -1 Unknown Symbol in module
However, there may be others who share my problem since kernel-power v48:

... Has anybody found a solution to this, or tried recompiling these drivers?
