People Please Help!
How to change battery icons?
i've used Midnight Commander and nothing
've used sudo gainroot - root with commands: cp ; mv ; and again nothing.
I've tried to remove battery icons in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon/ and it says denied.
I've read mostly all of the threads and again NOTHING !
I've updated to pr1.3 if it means anything.

Place the .png icons into usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/hildon

Place the 2 .xml files in etc/systemui

now reboot your device to see the new icons in the power key menu.

*note* applying this mod will remove some of th default options from the PowerKey menu, the options shown in the screenshot are what you will get unless you tweak the systemui.xml file yourself.

those two green arrows on both sides of your desktop (background) are just images? or you actually can scroll between icons without changing the desktop?
if so, how can i do the same.
thanks.

no need to be an *** about it, it's not to my taste as well, but he got some nice stuff there, so kudos to him for the work he put in.
beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, dont forget that
anyways back to topic:
can somebody write some gui for us simple people that will allow us to change all icons to our chosen icons. (probably something that will change systemui.xml file as well so we won't screw with it)
something similar to the theme customizer but with icon changing/restoring capabilities. and kudos to all you moders tweakers out there.
i actually dont have time to spend on this now (end of semester) but i got hooked wasted 2 days already. changed bunch of stuff and realized that a gui would be a lifesaver.
get your desired icons on your desktop (PS them, whatever) and just place them in home, the gui will do the rest (almost :P)

@Weedalot: Could you not just use filebox with root access and view images enabled? All you'd need to do is put the images in MyDocs and move them from there, all done on the N900 there's absolutely no need for WinSCP anymore.

EDIT: The systemui.xml only needs to be edited to change the power-button menu, like adding or removing the reboot button.

If it helps, these are the settings I use for filebox;

To copy just select an item/items, then keep your finger pressed to bring up the action menu, select copy and they'll be copied to clipboard.

Go to the folder where you want to place the items, select clipboard and paste and you'll be given an overwrite option, select yes and you're done.

To make things even easier you can bookmark frequently accessed folders, so you can get from MyDocs to the folder you need in a matter of a couple of keypresses;

Kind Regards,
D4rKlar

yea i know, been doing this last night, thanks anyways.
figured out many of the things you wrote about here. just very gruesome work to be clicking all over copying and pasting here and there. also file box could use the "select an option to do with files" like the standard file manager (already posted in the FileBox thread)

i got a question: what is the RebootX i saw here on someone's power key menu?

edit: another question: does anyone know how i can write a command that will launch the on screen keyboard. and how can i do a .desktop file directing me to it? i need it so i can pop the on screen keyboard when looking for a contact (i first must use a key on the keyboard than close it than click it so it will pop, a bit annoying) thanks guys in advance.

OK, maybe this would be easier if you're changing a lot of icons, and it will also save you having to overwrite any of the original icons

1) Copy your opt/usr/share/icons/hicolor folder to your PC's desktop
2) Change all the icons you want
3) Rename the hicolor folder to something else
4) Put the newly named folder in opt/usr/share/icons/
5) Select that folder (it will show as an icon theme) in theme customizer

Kind Regards,
D4rK
