No graphical interface for the moment, you have to modify the "keyconfig.cfg" file in the "/user/.cps2emu" directory.
You can use every character of the keyboard except the space (that is used for enter in the menu) and can use also the special words "KEY_UP", "KEY_DOWN", "KEY_LEFT", "KEY_RIGHT" and "KEY_ENTER". You have to insert the key one per line in the file in this order:

This is an example of the config file with standard key config:

I know it isn't a beautiful config file...but it works well
Enjoy with your game-gripper!
And thank you to Anunakin for this fantastic emulator!!
can the same config file be edited to add UP RIGHT and UP LEFT with n900's keyboard ?

I don't think so, but I'm using game gripper and it works very well.

What I would like to see is support for CPS1 games, specially The Punisher and Final Fight.

Hi. I am having problems launching roms on this emulator.
I had it on my last N900 but I forgot how to install it.
If I install from the App Man, I did it, then followed those instructions

1. Download the cps2emu tar.gz file from https://garage.maemo.org/projects/cps2emu/
2. Copy the tar.gz to /home/user/
3. Extract the file

tar -xzvf cps2emu.tar.gz
This will leave you with a folder called cps2emu.

4. Place zipped rom(s) in /home/user/cps2emu/romcnv/
5. Create cache files using romcnv

./romcnv -all

6. Move your zipped rom(s) to /home/user/cps2emu/roms/
7. Move the cache files created in step 5 to /home/user/cps2emu/cache/
8. Launch your game!

from /home/user/cps2emu/
./cps2emu romname

Have moved the tar.gz file to home/user and got errors on terminal
Also I don't want to put roms on home/user because there's not much space on it
I remember that my roms were on MyDocs before. And as I remember the app can create cache files
directly on the emu itself altough 1 in 1 rom, but I don't mind .
Can someone give more detailed instructions on how to make it run after
have the emu installed using the App Man? I tried also without installing
the emulator . When I point the app to the roms directories it shows no
files and I have more than 30 roms. Thank you for everyone who could help me.

gleydsonpr,

It's been a long time ago when I installed this application.
As I understand you have installed cps2gui using the application manager. Then there is no need for cps2emu tar.gz. This file has the same content of the deb you already have installed, but also contains the sources.

There is no obligation to keep the roms in /home/user. It was the case in older versions afaik. I do have my roms in a CPS2 folder in MyDocs. This map contains the subfolders state, cache, hi and nvram

If you use cps2emu from the command prompt, make sure your are in the same directory as your roms are, else it will fail.

So in your current state you described (including created cache), try:
Code:
cd /home/user/cps2emu/roms/
mv /home/user/cps2emu/cache .
cps2emu romname.zip
Good luck and please post the error message if it still fails. Moving the roms to MyDocs should be the next step.

Thank you Ade, I forgot that, have installed cps2emu again from App Man, the problem was as someone wrote earlier on this thread that the roms must be in .zip, mine were in .ZIP, now they show on cps2 open roms dialog and I have cached all of them using the app itself, thanks anyway for the help. Tomorrow or later will try to install Gngeo wich is also a great emu for SNK games, then need to add my N900 Bluetooth address to my ps3 controller.

hi all, anyone facing this problem?

emulator does not recognize my standard usb joypad (last version of gngeo works like a charm) so I would try the catch with xjoypad (I managed it in picodrive and drnoksnes).

anyway, everytime I attach the joypad emulator goes into "joypad mode", disabling keyboard ccntrol and so xjoypad becomes useless... I tried the command line switch no-extinput (it should disable joypad detection) but no luck with it... I'm using modified binary posted above containing key remapping feature.

Am i doing something wrong? Anyone did manage to get this emulator working with xjoypad an generic usb pad?

Thank you very much, help would be appreciated in order to play marvelous capcom classics (TV OUT rules!!)

Ok, I got it

Taking a look to source code (god bless opensource!), the problem was not related to the no-extinput switch (affects the gpx32 version) but related to the presence of the device file /dev/input/js0 .

A simple

mv /dev/input/js0 /dev/input/js1

does the trick (jpypad not detected so keys are not remapped) and makes possible the use of this emulator in conjunction with xjoypad and a generic USB pad.
