I've done the remove apt-get python and cache ln steps but I still cant get more than 60MB Anything else I can do?

Hmm I remove all apps/games over 8MB and the apt-get dist-upgrade is running now.

What about long key press to get symbols? i cant check for updates as im at work again without my n900, i checked this morning and it wasnt out for UK.

There seems to be a suggestion that those of us with older devices aren't going to be able to get this OTA - can anyone confirm? Something about the respository address.

I have to go to work, but would be glad of info later.

Exactly what it says "To update your device to this version of the operating system you must use the nokia software update application on your pc. connect the device to your pc via USB cable and launch the application."
The last minor update was to allow this bigger one to come over the air via handset. Your problem could only mean you didn't get the last update or it did not install correctly.

The guy in that thread says it's because the device is over 6 weeks old
