magnuslu,
do you think your code could be ported easily? What I wish was created is a skinnable GUI that can be adapted to different sports simply by changing the "skin" to say NBA or NFL. In doing so, the app then gets basketball/football updates via rss or however you are currently doing so. It could then even be further personalized, ask the user their favorite team on start up, and have the app d/l a skin of that team. Editable of course as there are front runners

** Edit, is this app for the 900 exclusively or will it function on the 8x0 series as well :/

Interesting thoughts! I certainly want to make it generic to cater for other sports as well, icehockey, basketball and Am. football would be my next candidates. At the moment, the only 'football' specific thing about the app is the background image. I could make it load a 'qsportsevent_landscape.jpg' and 'qsportsevent_portrait.jpg' instead and you put whatever you want there? I'd still like to have defaults for all sports, so I would probably provide that for whatever I will support in the future. Ah.... Yes, you are more than welcome to provide such background images for me to include! Just make sure I have the legal right to use them...

Even more important though... Do you know of any data source that I could use for these other sports?

In Extras-Devel there should be a Diablo version. I have no way of testing it, so please try it out! Let me know if the auto-shutdown issue is there... Not sure if it got fixed for that version.

Well... Last time I contacted xscores.com they quoted something like EUR750 per month, and that's not even for all leagues! If you can find a way for me to fund that expense, I'm on!!

Good news then! In version 0.0.5 you are able to enter your own URLs

I probably should do some of my own rendering in case the selected URL is a link to a RSS XML. I haven't looked into this yet. Anyone has a generic CSS stylesheet that I could use for that?

I installed the new version on my N810 (Diablo). I get the new icon but;
a) when running it through the menu nothing happens,
b) when running it through the terminal using qsportsevent I get;
QSLITE driver not loaded and failed to connect, database not open and finally a segmentation fault.

Déjà vu...

I believe an N810 user of my other app (QTeachMe) reported the same issue... I guess I'll have to look into this somehow, even though I don't have an N810 to test it on myself...

Thanks for reporting and not just giving up!

It's there! Select it from the first tab, the 'Select' tab. The name of the selected league will now appear as the app title. Go to the 'Favourites' tab and click on the + sign below the table and the currently selected league will be added to your favourites. Feel free to remove any leagues you don't want from the favourites as well.

magnuslu,
I sent you a PM with the data sources for most of the USA sports you do not have included. Let me know if you did not receive them.

Haus3r,
What are the images you are posing for

*edit I am running .5 on my 810 and have little to no problems. It does randomly crash here and there but after a long bit of initial loading, seems to work (at least 4 me)
