Yes. Here is the Hindi sound files. If its not working cause your phone is set to a different language (eg English_us), you will need to look into here, and just change the greek to hindi (etc depending on the folder name).

I have yet to figure out
how to change the language in which the street names are displayed (not voice guidance)
without changing the system language of the device
I thought the above change would do that also, but it does not.
Could somebody help?

As mentioned before, due to a small lag in voice, street names are not completed before you have to make the next turn. Is there a way to speed this up a little. Does overclocking help resolve this? Of course one solution is I could drive more slowly...

No, I did not mean a font problem.
When I have english system language, nokia maps shows street names with english characters for greek maps.
When I have greek system locale street names are in greek characters.
What I want to achieve is english system language but greek characters in streets.

For some reason the html5 version did not work for me (I did the wav renaming correctly); the version with python server runs well.
I have made little changes, e.g. to leave the python server running
forever (no shutdown) and listening only on 127.0.0.1 interface for security.

Works nicely with the fm transmitter and car radio, too, after
a little hack to avoid automatic turn off of the transmitter during
long silence periods.

Concerning the language, I think that it should be able to change
the language for the street name (passed to espeak) dynamically, according to the current location. I am not familiar enough with javascript to code this. The python script could be easily adapted
to switch language for espeak dynamically, but I have no idea how
to find out from the position in the map in which country (and its language region) you are.

The whole process of getting the improved navigation up and running was not really straightforward, so I have gathered
the necessary information in a mini-howto http:////www.pittnerovi.com/jiri/hob...900/index.html.

thanks so much! couldnt have done it without your howto!
i didnt realize unzip had to be added. maybe there can be a 5.1 step for typing unzip to make sure its installed? luckily i was able to figure it out very easily, but maybe others will actually stumble there? just an idea. if i wasnt paying close attention, i might have skipped ahead through everything not realizing there was an error.

speaking of errors, i got one on the very last espeak testing step. "failed: connection refused." twice.
