Google has made market app stats available for developers:
http://www.androidcentral.com/google...veloper-portal
Interestingly, 86% of users are using v2.1 and v2.2 .
It would seem that claims of 'fragmentation' are somewhat overstated, however, I wonder how this will change when v2.3 hits the market en-mass as v2.1/2.2 was part of Android's explosive growth.
I would bet that at 86% for a major version (v2), android is actually less fragmented than other popular smartphone OSs.
It's official, the Market Stats module is available to developers:
http://android-developers.blogspot.c...id-market.html
This lets developers make important decisions about targeting their apps based on actual user statistics. This is a very good idea.

Yo Dan,
I am really leaning towards the NC ($ vs $$$ Tab etal) as an N800 replacement.
My concern now is storage. I currently have 8GB+ MP4 video on my N800.
Given an NC running android from the MSD, how much storage do you have access to? (ie media: video,mp3 etc)
How do you get the data onto the NC?
Thanks
Snoshrk
PS did I read that you have a BT ODBII plug? What is it & how much?
thx Sno
Wow, look at all those stats made available to their community.
And where can we find (any sort of data) on maemo/MeeGo apps on Ovi??
