Up and running, having a lot of fun poking around.
In Maemo Control Pane | Memory,
Extend virtual memory is not checked.
Is the swap something that just KDE uses,
or is it really not enabled?
Also, if you should happen to edit the first post in this thread,
there's still a bunch of invisible yellow text. (another Classic view user)

The instructions do not make it clear that the KDE358.tar file must be named KDE358.tar.bz2! It was downloading to my PC as KDE358.tar.tar

The swap is enabled but not through control-panel
In xterm, do
NOKIA:/ ROOT#free
total used free shared buffers
Mem: 126828 117596 9232 0 208
Swap: 131064 100 130964
Total: 257892 117696 140196
NOKIA:/ ROOT#
Congrats!!!
To all my Maemo friends. I will no longer be monitoring any of my threads here on a regular basis. I am no longer supporting anything I did under maemo at maemo.org. If you need some help with something you can reach me at tablethacker.com or www.facebook.com/penguinbait. I have disabled my PM's here, and removed myself from Council email and Community mailing list. There has been some fun times, see you around.
