@mirakels
thx and damn i forgot it to delet :-D
@all who had a update problem today - i am sorry for this - can you report me in a mail (maemo@3ion.at) what are you done (point for point)
how it seams on much devices the update go on without problems!?
thx for your help
This is why everyone needs a to install bootmenu and have an alternative rootfs on internal mmc or a microSD card. Then when such thing happens you can boot to the second partition, mount the ubifs root, and restore it to a good state.
If someone has such a setup and can upload a copy of hildon.menu and all .dekstop/.directory files that cause such a reboot loop, maybe we can analyze it and find out what the problem is.

I had the previous version installed from Qole's repo (that's how I originally installed it)
I updated it using the update menu sh script in System
When the update came in Qole's repo I updated it
Then the desktop started flashing, the app installed but the screen kept flashing and when I checked the applications menu only the top row was there.
Then I thought to reboot it to see if that would fix it, and it went into a reboot loop. It would try to go to the desktop, kept flashing randomly until it would reboot.
I then reflashed my firmware.
Edit: I'll email it once I'm home.
Hmm, I was unaware we had gotten to the point where we can clone and run the OS externally again. I should set that up then so if this type of thing ever happens again I won't have to reflash just to get phone functionality back. =P

I already had Qole's repository setup, so initial install was via apt-get.
Just installed the firmware update 1.0.1, still no problems. Works just fine. Not showing empty categories either.
