I spent £500 on the n900 and don't regret it for a second.
A portable Linux computer is very useful to me.

Do you regret not checking you spelling on the thread title?

No.. i do not regret it. Having a linux debian phone is really something. I even plan to buy another one in case this one gets bricked. I am a little bit skeptic against Maemo6 and RPM.. but we'll see, it could be marvelous too.

i think we should all do a video talking about what we like and dislike about the N900 and upload then you youtube as video responses to Nokias n900 ads .
people have a right to know what there getting themselves into the good and really bad no sugar coating it like is done here when new people ask we are not nokias sell reps at least not all of us and people deserve honesty to make an informed decision i am uploading one to them as we speak sure we complain about it here but if we don't complain in the open nothing will ever get fixed faster so open your good cams and tell the world through video

Just bought it 4 days ago after extensivley checking all reviews for not just the N900 but all other major competitors over 1 month.

I believe there is enough information out there for any user to make an informed decision on their choice of handset. I knew exactly what I was getting into when I chose this device with the updates required(hurry up PR1.2) and the Meego announcement.

Tthere is a learning curve but its one I am happy to follow, in fact I have went loco on the handset already, testing what it can do and need a reflash already. The point is I dont care and expect this from time to time, there could'nt be more warnings to make it clear this can happen if you experiment alot with the phone.

I knew this before I got the phone, I totally know this now I have the phone and I could'nt be happier with my new shiny device.

VIVA!

at the maemo.org FAN site? Shocking. Simply shocking, I tell you.

Seriously, what is it about the n900 that attracts people who have never been on the internet before purchasing it? Go to an iPhone fan site and post some negatives. Feel the love. Do the same over at ppcgeeks.com, only talk about WinMo. Feel the love.

Repeat as needed until you develop a thick skin.

On topic, there are two people who post here. Those that regret their purchase, and those that don't. Everyone else is just using the device without the need to post either way.

Sadly, I am in the "don't regret but for some reason comes here anyway" group.

Yes... absolutely.

After no information whatsoever from Nokia from October to December 2009, I decided to buy an N900 from overseas seeing as it appeared the phone would never see Asia.

Fast forward to March 2010... Nokia gives away an N900 each to all attendees of the N900 launch in Malaysia.
