For some reason in all the reading here and there .... and over there... on the NC and alternate OS's, I seem to have gotten the idea that it is running off of the SD (ala dual boot N800)
Unless the Streak7 wifi or the Tab wifi drop significantly in price I should be joining the NC ranks in a month or so....

This is extremely encouraging.
It seems that Samsung could be first to roll out Gingerbread updates to its Galaxy S phones:

Why is this significant? It shows that Samsung is reversing its reputation of being slow or never to update its phones. Many of the Galaxy S phones have been receiving Froyo updates, and it looks as if they'll be getting Gingerbread updates as well!
Samsung looks as if it is changing to meet the demands of the masses.
Could an official Tab 7 port of 3.0 be far behind? I still cling to the speculation that it's on the horizon!

Actually, I already use both my Droid and Galaxy Tab with the Torque app and my Bluetooth OBD2 module so I can monitor my 2000 Ford Windstar. (My 1993 Honda Del Sol and 1974 Volkwagen Beetle are both too old to be used with OBD2... phooey!) It works INCREDIBLY well!!
I will be using mine in the field.
I will use mine to detect problems with vital sensors and actuators.
I can't wait to start working......it just makes everthing that much more exciting!
