@ggabriel
For the contacts at least you can export them in .vcf file on N9 and import to Jolla. I don't believe such a basic functionality like .vcf import will be missing in Sailfish, be it even BETA
For pictures - hope simple scp will do it.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about myself. I was wondering more about the normal Joe who doesn't have much knowledge about how things work. Nokia used to make phone migration extemely easy.

I think jolla will hande data migration if we give them time. Data migration and restore. Give them a few iterations. When that is in place we could really start to recommend the jPhones to joe.

Maybe they will have a cellebrite device which can transfer contacts between almost any phones. Maybe they are one of the few devices that aren't accessible to it.

They have no time, Dave. I want to migrate all my info from N9 from the very first time i get my hands on the new phone, not months or half-a-year after. Isn't it obvious? It's a day one feature.

Then jPhone is not for you and you should look at iPhone

They have a week.

Well, actually, migrating from iPhone to Android nowadays is a pain for the normal user. They just lose all their friends and have to make new friends (in a manner of speaking).

So, it isn't crazy for Jolla to be a challenge as well. It would be ideal if some cloud service and application combination could do the job. However, this involves giving all your information to somebody else. This may be ok for most people though, and the ones who a) don't know how things work b) respect their privacy will have to suffer a little bit.
