This Toshiba Tablet looks good:

http://phandroid.com/2011/03/18/tosh...t-description/

Technical Details

- 10.1" ( 1280x800 ) LED-backlit multi-touch widescreen display with Adaptive Display Technology, supporting 720p

- NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core mobile processor;

- Android operating system (Honeycomb not confirmed)

- 5.0 MP rear camera with autofocus and 2.0MP front-facing webcam; stereo speakers with Toshiba sound enhancements

- USB, mini-USB, and HDMI ports and full-sized SD card reader;

- Sensors (Gyroscope, Accelerometer, e-Compass, GPS and Ambient Light)

- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity supporting Adobe Flash

- Easy Grip non-slip interchangeable rubber backplate, available in a variety of colors;

- User-replaceable prismatic lithium battery

Looks a bit thicker than other tablets, but I do like the rubber back and full size USB, HDMI and SD card reader

This thread should be renamed to something like "Other tablets" or something, It's not just about the Samsung Tab for a long time

Have you been playing around with FPSE as well?
Well most of the N64 games I've tried do have problems or don't run at all, (Conkers bad fur day i'm looking at you), but to be honest i'm just happy there is an N64 emulator at all.

Probably the best performing game at the moment is Mario 64 although the Z button isn't best placed for certain jumps.

I've tried a couple of games where characters have two sets of eyes and in Smash Bros. certain characters have none at all! Freaky.

Given time this will become better i'm sure but, curse my hands, my fingers don't take kindly to constant rubbing against a screen and, alas, only 8 stars in I had to have a break from Mario 64 but it is still a much better experience than the D-pad on other emulators.

Haven't tried FPSE yet although I have PSX4Droid and have played Gran Turismo which runs very well although in the heat of battle your finger can stray off the controls. With a decent bluetooth joypad these emulators would eat hours of my day but my fingers come first!

That's great to know! Apparently, the developer of the N64 emulator is quite good at continuing to update the software, so I expect that compatibility will improve in the future. It is a shame that only a few roms work properly, but as you said, its great that there's an emulator at all!

To make things more comfortable, check this out:

I suspect this would work for the Tab as well, and would add some useful tactile feedback. It would be better still if it were embodied in a case that you could just snap on to your device, or like a band that you could slip around your device (weekend DIY project?). In any case, it's likely better than just the bare screen for these emu games.

It looks as though Amazon may launch it's App store tomorrow:

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/...store-tuesday/

Most interesting.

Even more interesting is that Amazon is rumored to be prepping a tablet to enter the competition. This tablet will be powered using Android.

Don't underestimate Amazon. They both know how to sell, and how to create a comfortable user experience (eg. kindle). I'm genuinely excited to see this fabled device.

My money is still on the Galaxy Tab 8.9, being announced tomorrow. Something tells me it's going to be extremely sexy.

Here's a preview of some of the Honeycomb wallpapers on the Galaxy Tab 10.1!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7aPFWFQCDA

Interestingly, there are no live wallpapers. This may be due to performance, as pushing 1M+ pixels at a decent framerate can't be easy for this generation of mobile SoC and their batteries.

Here's a neat app that uses the Tab as a BT remote:

Very cool, it seems to work with powerpoint among other things (looks to be keyboard emulation). Windows only? Dunno, but it looks neat-o.

I thought you could already do that with any number of BT hardware emulators (kb and mouse) on Android with pretty much any device?
