Anyway, a very friendly person helped me a lot to get some informations and he called his colleagues at the Nokia shop. After some minutes he was back and told me, that his colleague from Nokia Shop knows about Maemo and the 500 pieces developer discount, but it's unsure when the discount code will be activated in Germany and it's even unsure if this promotion/developer program from Maemo will be ever accepted in Germany.

... I'm feeling speechless
Well, being very friendly does not mean being correctly providing information
I am sure we all get out n810 in our hands.

Discount Codes are now being accepted in German Nokia Online Shop:

I have good news for you: I just completed an order in the German store.

I believe that the reason for people not getting their codes accepted in several countries is a problem with the URL forwarding from the link that was given in the Email with the codes.
(Now I know even more, why Nokia should abandon their website-flashy-flashy policy, btw.)

But there still is a bug in the procedure and I'm not sure, if my order is actually valid.
So my proposition is: I'll let you know if the shop actually fulfills my order ASAP. Since it's an express order, the email should come tomorrow.
As soon as I have a confirmation in my inbox I'll post the step by step procedure to get your well deserved discounted machines.

In case that there is indeed a problem with the codes, we'll have to find out how this mess could have happened, make up our minds what to do about it and not whine.

We don't want to have even more hassle around this whole unfortunate thread, do we?

You mean the "full price discount" bug experienced by armin, I presume?

yup. exactly.
and i wouldn't want to give anybody inside a Nokia department somewhere in the world a reason to bring this good maemo-initiative to a fall with means of "politics".
that's why i wanted to be sure what kind of bug this new bug is.
maybe it's just pure wealth and goodness, but who knows
now you can call me paranoid...

I don't really understand the first line, 5:24 where it seems the package was in ZH (Switzerland)...
My N810 was a gift from the device group and not part of this program, but I watched it go from Finland to England, back to Finland, back to England, and then here to the US.

Insane.

Well, I'm definitely not going to quickly order to exploit that in some way - I guess I'll wait a couple of days to see if it's fixed, or what happens to your and armin's orders. Waiting is annoying, but after this long a few more days won't kill me I guess.

When I called Nokia from work, a person from Nokia told me that it's unsure when the code will be activated and as I'm an unbeliever, the 1st thing at home is trying the discount code - and it works!!??

I don't read the newest postings of this thread before I ordered for full price discount too!? ... good or bad? We'll see.

I believe everything if I have a working device in my hands. It's like a big adventure game and 500 people want reach the finish line

Cool. So maybe it was just a coincidence that they accepted my code when I thought I had finally figured out, how it worked?
The better!
Unfortunately there's no way for me to find out now

Let's hope the codes begin to work everywhere slowly but surely.
