So far everything I've tried with my script has played at 800x480. I'll try Avatar.

Tablet-encode should put it at 800x480 as well, have you tried that?

Nice thread. Have'd pretty much same idea to ask and share with TALK. Didn't want to create another thread all tho its little bit different. So i guess l'll post it here.. WHAT'S YOUR EXPERIENCE WATCHING MOVIES ON LINE ON YOUR N900 .
I have to say its amazing usually watching it on movies-links site and most of the time no problem at all with Flash player except when its come to DivX player. it asking ether to download (not a big fun of download) file or open with MP but its pretty much constantly buffering on MP. And i notice also that even on my computer DivX player heavier than flash. I assume there's no solution for that its just player itself. Anyway just wanted to share and see what is your favorite movie site and is there some solution to open online movies directly on you MP

tablet-encode should work on windows.

http://mediautils.garage.maemo.org/tablet-encode.html

"It runs on Linux, Mac OS X, Unix and Windows."

You just need to download and install the mplayer/mencoder for windows.

I'm still a little disappointed that I'm unable to stream videos from my media server to the N900 with tv out. I tried Knots2 but my server couldn't handle the on-the-fly conversion of videos and the playback started lagging.. I usually stream videos through samba with no problem on my laptop.. did anyone try that on the N900?

Buy better computer or you could try to read knots 2 thread and made modifications to server profile/settings.
