Well, I think the REAL question is how to DISABLE zoom. I don't mind looking at small text, and I could use those 2-3 second back spent zooming in and out of a text field. Not to mention that accidentally double-clicking (and therefore zooming) is fairly annoying. Anybody know if it is possible to disable it altogether???

I think I will make a HUJKIO-extension to Firefox/Fennec soon, if they are not added to vanilla browsers.
Why would I flame you? lol

And what do you mean by using HUJK? Wouldn;t the arrow keys be simpler? Also is there no way to enable addons in nightly builds? Had a fiddle in about:config and changed the version number to 1.0 but it had no effect

See how HUJK keys are located in N900 and almost in all minimalistic qwerty-keyboards. Arrow keys are not so important, it seems, because even Nokia has hidden UP and DOWN arrow keys behind an Alt-key in Scandinavian N900s.
Code:
 U UIO
HJK HJK
=> HUJKIO

So, H=left, U=up, J=down, K=right, I=zoomIN, O=zoomOUT
U, I and O are easy to remember. Yet they are all side by side in qwerty-keyboard.

In minimalistic qwerty-keyboards, only one CTRL key is almost always on the left side, which makes it easy to use HUJKIO-keys even with CTRL with just two thumbs in mobile devices, or at least you can use ergonomically two hands.
Of course, it could not have to require CTRL-key in many places where you are not in the input field.

to copy text what I do is I click the point to start highlighting then shift+left or right arrow
highlights, then ctrl+c to copy. its not the most intuative solution but it works.

does anybody know how to find text? ctrl+f doesn't seem to work in firefox mobile but in microb it does.

Holy cow!!!! YOU ARE FREAKIN AWESOME! If I could click THANK YOU 1000x for you I would!!!

I guess the new question is: why didn't the mobile firefox dev team say this in the FIRST PLACE as an alternative???

Like you said: It's not a perfect solution, but it WORKS!!! Thank you!!!

This just earned you the Tip of the Week Award.

I had no idea you could do this. How did you figure it out?

Another way works also.

One can then PASTE (CTRL V) the text in some text editor and get rid of anything else one didn't wanted.

OOOOOHHHH... You know, the way I read your post originally, I thought you were providing a recommendation for what SHOULD be done. I didn't realize you were saying that it is POSSIBLE today. You deserve today's tip award too!

honestly, i'm anything but a fan of firefox. at least microb isnt called firefox, so thats not too obvious. i'd rather see opera, but thats another story...

so, is firefox any good compared to microb? can anyone make a video of it?

I like it better. So much so I've made it my default browser. Better UI than MicroB to me. Really nice to have true tabbed browsing, real < > buttons, the usual Firefox extensions like Adblock Plus, etc. Nokia seems to like it too, they're featuring it: http://maemo.nokia.com/

The nightly testing builds are adding more features and speed all the time. Probably won' be too long and we'll get an upgraded version that will really make it nice.
