I know qt exist in tizen but still not "official toolkit" BUT since my last post its seems like tizen appstore now support Qt thats right direction IMHO

so I say this dish tizen sdk go qt+mer all the way everyone wins. Seriously I don't see a reason for tizen::* classes hen there is qt and other libs in mer that use the same stuff. I know tizen::* was done before we did know whom will take over qt. But now we know it's digia and still FOSS everyone wins on qt. Less fragmentation of the core libs and less reinvent the wheel..

It's not technically poorer than competing frameworks. In fact, I'd risk to say it's damn near superior.

But Qt is not a deciding factor for much anything mobile related at the moment no matter how much people think otherwise.

The business strategies for Qt is secondhand in this discussion; a wider discussion about that would entail past dealings and possible (theoretical) future dealings. All I know... it's on Tizen, it's on Jolla, it's on BB10... all three are on my radar at this very moment.

And that, my friend... is a good thing. But it's just not a deciding factor. And to reiterate my prior statement; that's a damn shame.
Well, with that clarification it'd appear we're pretty-much on the same page.

It's what I've been saying all along. What, pray tell, did you think I was saying that you disagreed with?

lol a new kind of trolling...why not simply be happy that you are in an agreement. Or do we need to solve this before we move on? If so im with you.

I wasn't disagreeing as such, your 1st post wasn't clear, hence my response, then there was your [still unclear] response, finally that last post I responded to cleared things up.
It's all pretty clear now, thanks for the clarification...

No trolling; I've yet to become you. I just couldn't fathom what was misunderstood. But luckily, clarification was found.

I guess my take on Qt could have been taken as flippant and dismissing Qt. Far from the case. I just cannot personally comprehend why Qt isn't as major with developers on all platforms and as big of a deal as it should be.

But I digress. Things are sadly moving to where mediocrity is becoming the norm. That **** doesn't make any sense to me.

I think I know why. When Qt was still Nokia, they didn't bother to do anything to make it work on other platforms, or lure other smartphone OS's to base on it. They wasted their time writing 2 qtWidget interfaces (symbian, fremantle) 2 different direct ui implementations (Orbit, dui(meegotouch)) and two different set of qt components instead of focusing on one of them and deep integration with the platforms. With the app-craze being on android and iOS it's quite apparent why it didn't become a big deal.

I think Nokia abandoning it was the best thing that could happen to Qt. All the dirty work to adapt for mobile was done, and digia in less than a year ships a framework that supports virtually all platforms, and 3 of them (Sailfish, Ubuntu, BBX) are not only supported, but based on it.

On 5.1 or 5.2 windows phone will also be supported btw. You can already run QtWidget apps on WP8, qml to come.
