ok i'm gone from this thread for like a week and it goes from 70 to 250 pages^^ so i'm not sure if this has been said or told or whatever but i'll post it anyway and this is most concering my personal stabilty and batterylife.

Here we go then:
I've been using the 125mhz - 930mhz cpu with 500mhz DSP since well i'm not sure since the post i find the link is from the 10th but iv'e had it longer then that^^ so say from the 7th or 8th i think and i have so far only noticed 1 problem and that is that my microB browser has shut it self down 2 twice within 5min other then that i have not come across any problems and now for the kicker, before the kernel update i would usally get my phone of the charger in the morning and then plug it back in in the evning after a day of use (the battery then having gone from 94-96% to 1-3%) but now after the update as i unintennaly tested it this weekend while at my girlfriends house (i forgot the charger at home) i took my phone OFF the charger at around 15:00 friday it was then at 96% full load for me and took off from home, during my trip to my girlfriends i listend to music the entire trip, played some snes, surfed the web and read some news and generally just used the phone.
when we went to bed in the evening my phonebattery was at 28-29% according to lshal | grep percentage and from that point onwards i didnt use my phone at all to make it last aslong as i could i sent and got like 5-6 sms that's it and my phone was on standby until the battery finally died somewhere between 02.30 sunday morning to 12.30 sunday.

so to summon up, my phone when from fully charged (96%) friday around 15.00 to completly discharged and auto shutdown somewhere between 02.30 - 12.30 sunday that somewhere from one and half to two days of standby and a major increase for me.

thing's to note for this test is these things:
I have 3 as my operator so i'm ALWAYS on 3g. ALWAYS!
I hade BlueTooth on at all time's and i used it while listning to music otherwise it was just on and waiting for a connection.
I used the Auto-Disconnect application to shut down my gprs and/or wlan after 5min if it didn't use more the 512kb om bandwidth.

i hope someone finds this intressting, me for one is absolutly loving this kernel and will stick with it until something bad happens *knock on wood: "knock, knock, knock"* or i want to revert back to stock (god know's why^^)

Regards
Ramin

So I reflashed the origin pr1.1.1 kernel and phone is running fine again and I can retry switching to the overclock kernels...

However after reinstalling the stock kernel the version info in the settings about screen shows "unknown". I tried to resolve this by reinstalling mp-fremantle-generic-pr but this fails because of an hildon-initscripts dependency failure:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mp-fremantle-generic-pr: Depends: hildon-initscripts (= 1.26-1+0m5) but 1.26-1+dp1 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

Is there another way to fix this? I tried to force just download of the mp-fremantle* package, but this gives the same problem. I also tried to download the package manually using wget but this fails (or I do not use the proper URI).

Is someone willing to show the output of:

dpkg -L mp-fremantle-generic-pr

Or maybe can download the package using apt-get install -d and make the package available to us?

I hope that can help to get the version info back

Thanks

Have you tried "apt-get -f install " ?
I've the some issues, different libs but the same issues i think.
For me it works.

not sure if there is a app but its not needed
There is an app, but I'm not sure whether it's installed as standard. If not:

Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install wget

I've tried Titans Kernel.
I tried to uninstall it, with sucess (not at all..i'll explain now).
It's ok, i come back to 600 Mhz max kernel, got the about device info, all good.

But..if i go to the file manager, now i have duplicated items to 'camera', 'images', 'sounds' and 'videos'. WOW.
All off them with the same duplicated info. So strange.

I think i dont do anything else to have this strange effect! :S

Anyonce can help removing this ?

(If connect to PC, i only have one .images, .sounds, .videos. . . )

its a known bug and actually nothing to do with the kernel

It happens when you get over a certain amount of items in you mydocs (appx 32 i think - or something like that)
Marked as fixed in PR1.2

You read the time_in_state file several times. This means the counts in the file may have been changed leading to less accuracy... I posted (see a few pages back...) an awk scrip that only reads the file once. Feel free to take that code and include it in your script.
