For those that don't have access to an Android tablet, here's a video of Opera 11!

Demoed is the Tab 7. It is amazingly smooth with no 'checkerboarding'.

A very impressive build and a solid contender for ultimate mobile browser!

Following up on my post regarding the Samsung possibly bypassing the Tegra 2 for the Mali400 GPU (Exynos 4210), here is a development tablet featuring the new processor:

http://hardkernel.com/

Samsung's chip is quite a performer, and certainly beats the pants off of the current Tegra 2 in GPU performance as suggested by GL Benchmarks. However, this particular device isn't as quick as the SGX543MP in the Apple iPad!

However, it's certainly head and shoulders above the rest of the Android ilk centering around Tegra 2. I bet Samsung is seriously considering leveraging its home-grown chip.

Honeycomb on an overclocked nook runs pretty well!

The animation is a little choppy, but it looks certainly usable!

It seems that the leaked Netflix app is functional on Android.

I expect that this will be shut down soon enough.

It looks as if Sammy is looking to ramp up LCDs with ever increasing pixel-densities, brighter and lower power LCDs, and pen-enabled displays!

It's interesting looking into the future of this company. Samsung, is one of those suppliers whose components can be found in many other devices.

Interestingly, the SoCs of tomorrow will chew through these ultra high-resolution displays with relative ease -- they already can today. Expect resolutions on tablets beyond what we're currently used to seeing on the desktop! Resolutions greater than 1080p are to be expected in a relatively tiny footprint.

I really hate the cost models these companies put in place for individual non-business users. They already make so much damned money off of businesses.

I wouldn't buy it. Android is supposedly very secure and this seems somewhat overkill if even effective.
Settle down, cowboy. Android isn't as secure as you're making it out to be. Not at all, from what I've seen, done myself and read, trust me.

I probably should have included a bit of an explanation.

Back in the dark days when I was running Windows, I used Anti-virus software due to the known vulnerabilities of the system, yet I never once got a virus. In the end, my personal usage policies were enough protection; eg. multiple firewalls, use only trusted software, use software I'm confident is secure (eg. chrome vs. IE), use few programs, one trusted user (me), etc. While Android is certain to have its vulnerabilities, I'm confident that this system will remain secure in my sober, calculated use.

I personally don't feel that anti-virus software would help me on Linux based Android, based on the way that I am likely to use the software, and what I [think I] know of the system. This is an ignorant viewpoint, I know, though as far as I'm aware, the majority of android attacks are trojan APKs with permission settings that don't seem to make sense (eg. wallpaper that requires access to your contacts).

But perhaps you could offer a compelling reason why anti-virus software should be strongly considered or even a scenario, and I'll reconsider.

I remember a post some pages back that mentioned the Tab 7 going down to 450 (could have been $, €, or £). I could be wrong, though.

I'm betting that it will certainly get a price drop.

EDIT: Take a look a this link:
http://www.google.com/search?q=galax...=shop%3A1&aq=f

One of the Tabs is as low as $380!
Best Buy Verizon Tab for $430

It seems that the prices are quite low.

Interestingly Google Products lists the Verizon Tabs as #1 in mobile phones (ie. the most popular). It is sharing the #1 spot with the Nexus S, the iPhone4, the and the N8-00.
