I anticipate that many, many more manufacturers are going to do the same.

If you take a look at the 'Chrome OS' thread, you'll see some examples that allude the the quality and capability that are possible with web applications. As browsers improve, more than 99% of common apps should be do-able on the web.

Like you, I'm skeptical about this course that Motorola has chosen, but I don't see it being a danger to their Android installation, but offers a tremendous opportunity to claim a stake on the upcoming web-warz.

They could have done without the press release...
Aye, I was just berating them because they seem to have a pattern of spoiling what started out as a 'good' thing.

1. Razr: it was a good & simple workhorse, then they overdevelop the skins without appreciable increase to the core strengths and finally overdose the world til they could take no more Razrs.

2. Android? I guess this one is personal, cause I'm bitter for reading good things about the (original cdma Droid) and when I bought the Milestone (int'l gsm version of droid) I later found out its bootloader is locked up tight. And that they botched up execution of a pretty cool concept in Xoom.

Productivity on the go? Quickoffice for Honeycomb should be quite good to scratch that itch:

Here's a great preview of Flash 10.2 on the Xoom (honeycomb).

This is much improved over the previous version. It actually looks amazing.

Gotcha! 100% agreement.

I'm also a bit disappointed in how they rushed the Xoom and how greedy they were with the pricing. Though there hasn't been an official teardown, I'm betting that there's less than $250 of materials in that thing, and running a free OS.

They're probably using this time before the direct competition (other Android honeycomb tablets) enter the fray to try to rack up as many sales as possible (early adopters) and then lower it when the competition enters the market.

I know that once that Tab hits, I will not even think of the Xoom. I do, however, like the dual 5MP cameras -- I've got a soft spot for 3D, especially so considering that I have two eyeballs.

I'm not using my N900 so my question to you would be, what is the best Android w/wo Keyboard that handles business functions such as email and document management like spreadsheet and docs the best and is subsidized by US carriers such as TMO and ATT.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Mrs. Morris,

Be sure to bump your question, so it gets answered, as I understand you're on a tight schedule.

This sounds like a neat app: Color.

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2011/03/col...ocial-network/
VIDEO:

Color is an app that lets your share photos with strangers that allows you to share photos with devices in your physical area. This way, you can share 'memories' with strangers.

It's a novel concept, and the interface looks quite good.

It's available for iOS and Android, though the Android port is still distinctly beta.
