GConf errors solved by copying /etc/gconf and /etc/gconf2xsettings.d directories to the chroot. Doesn't fix pulseaudio, however.

Do you mean copying them from Maemo into Easy Debian?

I replaced the libgcc3 file in chroot of /usr/lib/ure/lib/libgcc3_uno.so with the attached file from the thread. Is that all I need to do? Do I need to update openoffice? How would I do it? Thanks.

Oops I tried to aptitude install openoffice.org and it downgraded it. Now I'm reinstalling the image again and trying something new.

rm42: yes, that's right.

andyph666: you only need that file if you updated and broke openoffice. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

debernardis: if I do aptitude update && aptitude safe-upgrade, will it update my openoffice if I just installed the easy debian image again?

@andyph666 you can try, this didn't break my openoffice.
In the meantime I'm doing the much deeper apt-get update && apt-get upgrade, then I'll apply the Ubuntu hack, and I hope I get the same results as Qole

Well I'm starting over again. I wouldn't mind openoffice to start a little faster. How would I update openoffice then without using aptitude update && aptitude safe-upgrade? Thanks again.
