@Goliath27: you can find in the forums a thread with an optimizen900.sh (or similar) script which restarts a number of daemons and could help with your lags. You might search for 'optimize n900'.

My question too: does it save the settings after I do the noob's ritual "Proposed "-> "Apply" -> "Store" or do I have to repeat it every time I reboot?

Yes. Yes it does. See the first post in this thread, or the Swappolube wiki page.

N.B. On the wiki page, some of the descriptions are missing. If I have time to more fully understand the options, I will attempt to fill in the gaps.

Also: great work debernardis - although my N900 already seems faster since I installed PR1.3, it seems to be even better now. Swappolube is another great package with a slightly funny name.

this is the setting in hildon-deskop.ini. it makes my desktop scrolling so ridiculously smooth!
Yea, it also makes hildon-desktop consume ~17% CPU (that's clocked to 1150) when ever you touch it or 'do' anything.

Hi debernardis,
i am new to this thread but want to desperately install this app for obvious reasons, just wanted to know after i install the app is it safe to reboot the device because i read some where in the thread that the device gets bricked if you reboot after installation. Do i have to do anything after installation and during reboot so that the device does not get bricked.
Thanks again for this app

I have reinstalled swappolube today after a complete clean (flash eMMC and rootfs)
actually i could not install it for few days because of the stories around PyQt
I was happy to reinstall it (useful application ) but, now

/opt/swappolube/swappolube.py
gives:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/opt/swappolube/swappolube.py", line 14, in <module>
from PyQt4 import QtGui,QtCore
RuntimeError: the sip module implements API v8.0 but the PyQt4.QtGui module requires API v7.1

so what to do now, wait a bit more for another fix of PyQt or wait for swappolube to be adapted or did I screw up something ?

Hmm is there a reason why Khweeteur looks very different after the installation of this package?

Although I did a Power-Kernel update as well without openingn Khweeteur...

Looking at the qt4 libs at the repositories it seems that several of those packages have been removed, but the fix is not completed yet.

There was an update of Khweeter today or yesterday. Maybe you did that too?
