My minimum modification version (just two cables soldered to the connectors) still working great. No problems.

Has anyone yet gone through airport hand bag security check with these self made battery modifications? It sure can look suspicious when they x-ray it.

Hi dr_frost_dk, do you think it is ok to mix nokia orig. bat with japod bat as you showed in the guide (obviously they are of different capacity...).
Thank you for your reply, I have ordered the mugen and the dx japod and plan to make the bat as your guide say

well you will still get a gain if you mix 2 good battery's, the orig battery is only about 50mAh besides japod.

BUT be warned if you do this the instant the first (lowest capacity battery) goes flat the other will go very quickly, meaning you will pretty much not get any low battery warning before the phone will die, here is where i recommend my battery meter in post #3. it pulses the led red when it gets to 15% and lower

one more thing, if your orig battery is over 6 months old the capacity will probably be closer to 1200mAh

i wonder that if the two batteries are significantly different in capacity and they are both flat when connected will they be charged and discharge at the same time (both go to full and discharge to flat at the same time)?

The 'weakest' one will be discharged first and then it will pull down the good one fast, so lets say you use a used orig battery and a japod battery.

1. orig battery is 1200mAh (because of age/usage)
2. japod battery is 1370mAh
This should equal 2570mAh but because the 1. will be drained first and then drag the 2. with it you will at best get closer to 2100mAh

And there is always the chance of beyond deep discharge which will destroy the 1. battery.
But more likely is that since the 1. battery will drag the 2. battery down fast when the voltage approaches 3.6V (less then 15%) the N900 will at this point see about 3.3V and shutdown, and again this will mean that you will not get any warning before the N900 shuts off to protect the battery

Hi Dr, any update if we might be able to replace the default crummy candle with one that reflects your qbw app? I actually removed the candle but then the n900 never said if it was changing any more so I had to put it back...

no removing the "candle" does disable all messages

BUT all functions still work, if you look at the battery meter when charging and the "candle" disabled you can see that it does gain V/% of course give it a few minutes before clicking to update or wait 5 minutes for auto update (default setting)

Hi dr_frost,
Thank you for your reply, so it seems there should be 2 japod for connecting now.
